Lord Kartikeya is the son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvathi, brother of Lord Ganesha, is the Hindu God of war, worshipped to bring wellness. Lord Kartikeya was created to destroy the demons, he carries a spear in one hand while the other hand is always blessings devotees. His vehicle is a peacock, a pious bird that grips with its feet a serpent, which symbolises the ego and desires of people. An important Deity found all over the Indian subcontinent in its history particularly worshipped in South India and Sri Lanka as "Murugan", also known as Skanda and Subramaniyam.
